Description

A comprehensive reorganization of the Constitution and Bylaws was the focus of most business sessions during the 40th National Convention. One major change was the elimination of the Member-at-Large psoitions on the National Council, to take effect in 1990, an idea that had been rejected at previous conventions. The delegates also approved resolutions related to alumnae social functions where alcohol is served, paralleling one already in place for collegiate chapters. Phi Mu also became the first Greek organization to formally adopt a statement stressing the importance of educating members about AIDS.
