1990 National Convention

1990 National Convention

Bylaws changes were minimal during the 41st National Convention, perhaps the fewest in Phi Mu history, thanks to the extensive changes made during the 1988 convention. One significant change, however, was the addition of the phrase "regardless of her race, religion or ethnic background" to the membership section of the Constitution. This addition was passed without comment or opposition. Firsts at the 1990 convention included the first official convention T-shirt and the first time fifty-year members were recognized since the 50-year pin was introduced in 1972. Two resolutions about auxiliary groups such as Little Sisters and Big Brothers were passed, stating that the Fraternity does not condone such organizations.
