1992 National Convention

1992 National Convention

Philanthropy became a focus of business sessions during the 42nd National Convention when an ad hoc Social Service Study Committee presented its findings. After much discussion, delegates adopted two changes: first, the addition of a new Article to the Constitution that stated a philanthropic philosophy and second, a new bylaw that gave the convention body the duty to determine the various philanthropies supported nationally. Additionally, the Social Service Chairman's title was formally changed to Philanthropic Activities Director.
