1956 National Convention

1956 National Convention

The 24th National Convention saw several major changes, most important of which was the establishment of the Phi Mu Foundation. The 1956 convention also saw the retirement of Zenobia Wooten Keller after 33 years managing the Phi Mu national headquarters. For alumnae, the 1956 convention marked the first time that District Alumnae Directors attended convention, as well as the first time alumnae chapter awards were presented. During the national officers election, polls were set up instead of the usual voting and tabulating on the convention floor.
