1960 National Convention

1960 National Convention

Growing ever larger, Phi Mu voted to engage a management consultant firm to survey organizational operations and make appropriate recommendations for improvements during the 26th National Convention. The closing banquet was called the Carnation Banquet for the first time during the 1960 convention and the first Carnation Queen, Gay Whitlock (Williams) of Gamma Alpha, presided over the event. The question of a Phi Mu emblem, symbol, or mascot, a subject originally discussed at the 1958 convention, was again brought up but no decision was reached.
