The main focus of the 21st National Convention in 1950 was planning for the Fraternity's centennial celebration in 1952. Leadership changes included adding the position of National Membership Director to the National Council. The most important decision of this convention, however, was centered on "restrictive clauses" in membership requirements that were causing problems for all Greek-letter organizations. To that end, changes to the Constitution and Bylaws were adopted that eliminated race- and faith-based qualifications for membership.
